Michael Flannery

Meet Michael

Michael Flannery is obsessed with sound. He serves as Technical Director of the Music & Technology Program at Stevens Institute of Technology, where he oversees equipment selection and develops hands-on lessons and experiments that cultivate deep listening and technical fluency in audio for his students.

Over a decades-long career, he has been a recording artist signed to LAVA/Atlantic, a winner of the John Lennon Songwriting Contest, author of a book on songwriting, composer of television jingles, film sound supervisor, and sound designer for video and installation art exhibited at museums internationally, including MoMA, MoMI, LACMA, and the Jeu de Paume.

Today, he brings that breadth of experience to lacquer cutting at The Mastering Palace. Working with a meticulously maintained Neumann VMS70 lathe, Michael produces precision cuts that translate digital masters to vinyl with exceptional fidelity, depth, and musicality.
